Yes, in certain circumstances. Virtual sessions are a great option for nervous or aggressive dogs, immunocompromised households, and people outside our regular service area.
We can begin as soon as your puppy comes home and has had at least one round of vaccinations, typically around 8-10 weeks. Beginning early with socialization, potty training, and establishing good habits is crucial for your dog's long-term happiness.
Day training is very different from a board-and-train program. For one, day training takes place in your home and in the places you plan to frequent with your puppy, while board-and-train typically takes place at a training facility. Because puppy learning is context-specific, it can be hard for them to generalize what they might learn at a board-and-train facility to your home or neighborhood. By training directly in these places, we help set your pup up for longer-term success.
Day training also involves you and your family in your pup's learning. While Wondrous Tails will teach your pup new behaviors, it is still up to you and your family to practice in between sessions. You are involved in every step of your pup's training journey, meaning that you will also learn the needed skills to maintain your puppy's good manners going forward.

That depends on your goals, your dog’s age, and how much time you and your family can dedicate to training. During your initial consult, we’ll discuss your goals, your lifestyle, and your bandwidth and decide on a training plan from there.
Absolutely! We encourage everyone who regularly interacts with your dog to be involved so you’re all giving consistent cues and rewards. Consistency from all family members is critical to a harmonious household.
